Origin Story of OptOps

OptOps didn’t start in a boardroom. It started from a real problem we faced while building and scaling a production platform used by thousands of creators. As our tech team scaled, our cloud costs started rising fast. It became harder to understand where the money was going and how to control it without slowing down development. Prince saw the team constantly balancing performance, speed, and cost, while Ashutosh began digging deeper to understand why spending kept increasing even when systems were running fine.

Having worked as a Platform Engineer in large environments, Ashutosh knew this wasn’t unusual. Most teams don’t overspend because they are careless -- they overspend because cloud tooling is complex, visibility is limited, and optimization takes too much manual effort. Instead of buying another tool, we built our own. We created internal systems to track usage, find waste, and automate optimizations. What started as an in-house solution quickly reduced our cloud costs and evolved into a platform that could continuously monitor and optimize infrastructure.

That internal project became OptOps.ai. When we saw the impact ourselves, we realized -- if we have this problem, thousands of other engineering teams do too. Today, OptOps exists for the same reason it was created: to help engineering teams reduce cloud costs, automate infrastructure decisions, and move fast without losing control of their spend.
